Stranger Things season 4 introduced some iconic and memorable characters in the show, and Eddie Munson (Joseph Quinn) was among the best. Always making jokes and relating everything to the fantasy world. He was the leader of Hellfire Club, a well-known club for the Nerds, in simple words, a mature form of Dungeons & Dragons club.
In the very first intro of the fourth season’s episode one, we can see, he’s the type of guy who used to live in his own way, with a humorous lifestyle, dealing drugs, playing guitar, and games. He was a dropout student, and that’s why he was still stuck in high school, which he claimed to be his last year, but who knew that it was going to be his last year on the planet.
The funny part is that the newly introduced character, Eddie Musnon, can be seen hiding throughout the season because he was at the wrong place at the wrong time.
In this article, we’ll be looking at the 10 best quotes spoken by one of the special supporting characters in Stranger Things who actually suffered a lot. Eddie’s quotes made us laugh, curious, and emotional at many points for a couple of reasons, which we will discuss in detail.
10 Best Quotes Worth Remembering by Eddie The Banished
This is Hellfire Club. Not babysitting club
Season 4 Episode 1

This was Eddie’s very first introduction to Erica Sinclair (Priah Ferguson), who is another nerd with a pseudo “Lady Applejack” and famous for saying some of the best quotes in the Stranger Things series. She wasn’t in the high school, so Eddie didn’t know about her, especially her confronting skills and calculations, which totally make her a remarkable nerd.
Eddie thought Dustin (Gaten Matarrazo) and Mike (Finn Wolfhard) brought her to the club to fill out an absentee form that was required to play the game. They were supposed to look for a sub, but when they introduced Erica, he thought they brought a child, which he refused by saying that this is not a babysitting club.
But Erica was a nerd after all, so she handled him well and made him speechless by saying, “Are we going to play or just wasting our time in talking to each other like it’s his mommy’s chit chat club?” She won Eddie over with her clever answers, and they became good friends.
In this scene, Mike and Dustin thought they had made a mistake, but Erica handled it well, which was a relief for both of them.
Whilst I respect the passion, you’d be wise to take Gareth the Great’s concern to heart. There is no shame in running
Season 4 Episode 1

Eddie used to say for himself that the best thing he ever did was to run away. Obviously, he was talking about tough scenarios and situations in his life. He never seemed to be a serious guy, even in the beginning. He was living with his only uncle and was just enjoying his life, so he accepted the fact about himself that he’s a loser.
And the same thing he used to apply in his sadistic campaign of Dungeons & Dragons as well. When he realised that his team players needed more points to beat the curse of Vecna, he sensed a lot of tension in them and proudly said that “There’s no shame in running.“
He believed in easy living, where a person can avoid facing the tough fights and can always run away to live freely. He used to believe it was better to run away and live instead of standing and fighting to the death.
And that was the reason, when Chrissy Cunningham (Grace Van Dien) died at his trailer, he spent the whole series running for his life.
This year is different. This year is my year. I can feel it
Season 4 Episode 1

He was right, actually. This was his year, not for graduating, of course, but to overcome his fears and some real-life dangers out of Dungeons & Dragons. He never knew what he was about to face by the end of the series. Most of all, he was never aware of the fact that he was going to face the same creatures and monsters from his book he used to play.
This year proved to be a different year of his life in many ways. He made new friends, faced the deadliest adventures of his life, and witnessed some of the scariest, unbelievable facts in Upside Down. The things he faced were really bad, and, honestly, he didn’t deserve it.

I concur, you Dustin Henderson, are a total b***head
Season 4 Episode 5

Only one person made everyone believe that fact, Eddie is not the culprit, and that person was Dustin. He also helped Eddie understand exactly what’s going on with him, and especially to the town of Hawkins. Without Dustin, he wouldn’t have survived that long in the series. That’s why good friends are the most important part of life.
And that was the sign of their good friendship, when Munson said him those words which apparently don’t seem to be the appropriate ones, but that’s how real mates do. They call each other with such special names, especially when they are happy to see each other.
It was no wonder that Dustin really was a good friend, and at one point, Eddie confirmed with Steve (Joe Keery) that he was jealous because Dustin adores him.
I say you asking me to follow you into Mordor, which, if I’m totally straight with you, I think it’s really a bad idea. But, uh, the Shire… the Shire is burning. So, the Mordor it is
Season 4 Episode 5

The funny banished and his sadistic heroic lines never fail to impress us throughout the series. From the very first season, even Lucas, Mike, and Dustin used to have their own fantasy names for roads, buildings, and even situations. And the same thing can be seen in them even when they become fully grown-ups.
After the addition of Munson guy to their group, their bond became even more interesting, as they have a new member among them with the same sense of humor and understanding.
In this very scene, he finalizes his answer in a dramatic and fantastical way that it actually goes right with the vibe of the series, which makes Eddie’s character even more interesting.
So, uh, I did the thing that I do now apparently. I ran
Season 4 Episode 5

Again, more running. As we discussed before, Eddie spent the whole series on foot for his life. The bad part is that he wasn’t the culprit or a killer, he actually cared and helped the nerds beat Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower) and all the other monsters and creatures from the Upside Down.
In fact, he lost his life battling one of the bad creatures from the Upside Down to avenge Chrissy and to save Max (Sadie Sink). The best part of his character is despite being a loser and a runner, he actually faced all the horrors to save his friends and, of course, to prove himself innocent.
So, uh, this place is like Hawkins, but with monsters and nasty sh**
Season 4 Episode 7

Ever wondered if you get a chance to visit the Upside Down, what will be your reaction? Well, that’s not a welcoming place, that’s guaranteed. Because the way Eddie, Steve, Robin (Maya Hawke), and Nancy (Natalia Dyer) were welcomed by demobats was too harsh, not a warm one.
By the time they entered that place, it was a nightmare for all of them. Every step has to be taken very carefully, as a single misstep could be the end for all of them. And that’s where Eddie’s real curiosities began, and of course, for him, that place is no less than a nasty sh**.

Those stains are, uh… I don’t know what those stains are
Season 4 Epsiode 7

Yes, Eddie the Banished, of course, we know what those stains are. And you know that as well, because your face looks explains everything. The weirdest is Robin’s reaction, who is literally thinking about what it could be. This one scene covering Eddie’s lines and reaction is one of the hilarious scenes of season 4.
That was the exact moment when all of them were about to leave the Upside Down without any harm. But, as it was Upside Down, so scientifically, they couldn’t enter in a straight direction, that’s why the place is called the Upside Down in simple words, and that was also the reason they needed that stained blanket.
Hear me now. There will no more retreating… From, Eddie the bannished
Season 4 Episode 8

Either he’s upset or wanted for crimes he didn’t commit, he still enjoys every moment. In that scene, he was truly enjoying his moment preparing for battle with the demobats. He was repeating the same words from his DnD book like a lord commanding his soldiers for war.
The best part was that he prepared this whole expedition staying close to Dustin, who apparently seemed to be the last person who truly cared for him. Together, they prepared the metal shields with iron nails that could beat the bats, and they were doing so in order to lay a trap for Vecna.
I didn’t run away this time, right
Season 4 Episode 9

This is one of the most influential and emotional scenes of the fourth season, when Eddie lost his life, and he was among the people who entered the Upside Down and never came back. And as always, in his last moments, again it was Dustin who held his head, even broke his leg in order to save him.
Why was this scene influential? Because Eddie was a man who said himself, whenever he sees danger, he just runs away, but this time it was different, he didn’t run. He stood his ground and fought, so he could save others. That’s why these were his last words: “I didn’t run this time, right?“
He lost his life, but he won many hearts. Still, the bad part was that for the people of Hawkins, he was still a killer and a dangerous villain. They never knew what they had lost, as they never got to see the reality. Instead, they kept believing in things they kept hearing from different people. But their real hero was already gone in the Upside Down.
